Here's a quick piece I did before getting a piece I thought was finally suitable for the newsletter piece I posted last.

Much larger version can be found here. I think it looks better at a slightly smaller size than the original though.
5-6 minutes in ArtRage. I liked where it was going, so I kept it. Much like most of my other recent speedpaintings, it started it without any actual concept in my head-- it just came out with the moving about of paint on the digital canvas. I'll likely flesh it out a bit later. For the curious, who find themselves wondering why I often get to a certain point where say I'll come back later, the reasoning usually comes down to either having something in my head go, "hey, stop right there, take a step back, and let your brain wrap around it for a bit", or my having something more immediately necessary to work on. Is there such a thing as waiting too long? I suppose, in some instances. At the same point, one can also gain some clarity in regards to what they want to do with a piece in that time. The other things is that often artists get a "block" just as much as writers do-- it can manifest as a whole, or with individual pieces. In that case, the best thing (for me) to do is to try and push through it with another piece, until ready to come back to the "blocked" piece.
Enjoy.

...it's the long awaited (and often teased) ART post...
You guys have been uber patient.
For that, I'm giving you two finished pieces now (yes, you read that correctly, these are the first finished pieces I've posted aside from the Conflation one), rather than making you wait for me to finish more for this set (I keep starting pieces, not liking where they're going, and stepping away from them to finish them later).
There are other projects I've been working on that unfortunately I can't post here at the moment, but I suspect these pieces will have made the wait worthwhile. I would have posted the first one sooner, but I was waiting to hear back from
lucifershalo with his thoughts on it before I posted it, as it was the first of a batch I've been working on for a submission project he had mentioned in another post comment a few weeks back. However, I know he's busy with a new job, and I'm not going to make you guys wait any longer.
( Make with the clicky, you know you want to-- THERE BE ART BENEATH HERE... )
Now I'm fucking tired and going to sleep.
Dig.

Probably the last one before midnight, I'm tired (I took a break to shut my eyes for a few and suddenly it was an hour and a half later... oops).

Another speedpaint, much more detail.

Again, rendered in Painter IX. Scratchboard, square chalk, eraser. Roughly 45 minutes from start to finish. This is intended to represent a character "concept" type piece, and will be included in the batch I submit later today. I opted not to cut this one because I like how it turned out, and want a broader audience to see it than just those that look behind the cut. Don't worry, I'll go back to using a cut with the next one.
